Craig Mathieson The Age (Australia) It’s a thoughtful, if grim, movie, and Kirby is outstanding. Rated: 3.5/5 Aug 28, 2025 Full Review Robert Levin Newsday It gets the style right and Kirby is first-rate, but the movie is a chore to watch. Rated: 2/4 Aug 26, 2025 Full Review Kevin Maher The Times (UK) Benjamin Caron was so convinced of Kirby’s prowess that he presumed she could carry the film, flaws and all. And she almost does. Almost. Rated: 3/5 Aug 20, 2025 Full Review John Stark Mac the Movie Guy Vanessa Kirby and Jennifer Jason Leigh help elevate a film about unrealistic goals, but also the drive to attain them no matter the cost. Rated: 6.3/10 Sep 1, 2025 Full Review Rohan Naahar The Indian Express A handsomely manicured movie about the grimy realities of the working class, Vanessa Kirby's thriller needed to be nastier. Sep 1, 2025 Full Review Aglaia Berlutti Hipertextual 'Night Always Comes' blends social drama and thriller to tell the story of a woman's countdown to save her home in 24 hours. Standard U If life has been hard and you are looking to wallow in that despair, then this might just be the movie for you. Scene after scene, I'm thinking, "Why are you doing this?" And they never seem to touch on all the horrific aftermath she's gonna have coming at her from the long list of bad choices and bad people she pisses off. BUT, above all that, the true reason for giving it 2-1/2 stars...the constant ASMR voice that Vanessa Kirby is using throughout the film. Other people are talking a normal level and she is full on channeling Jerry Seinfeld's "Low Talker". I despise when there is a weird fluctuation like that between the sound level of different characters. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/01/25 Full Review Vilius R A slow burning candle of consequences. When clinging to one straw must feel like it is the only way out. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/31/25 Full Review Anne G Vanessa Kirby in top action form in a gripping plot! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/31/25 Full Review Rahama M I wish I could get my time back, don't watch it. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/30/25 Full Review Bianca T Can someone please explain this. She needed $25,000 for the house. She got $19,000 from the safe but kept saying she only needed $4,000 more which she ended up getting in the end but that still would only get her to $23,000. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/30/25 Full Review Olivia N This is possibly one of the worst films I've ever seen. The cruelty of the mother is just beyond reality. Trauma porn at its finest and not even to make a viable statement. The tone, cinematography, and pacing is all great and beautiful, but the story is AWFUL.
