Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again is a light and breezy watch – one doesn't entirely revive all the joys of the earlier films but doesn't dampen them either. Go to Full Review

The character humor keeps the mood light, and younger audiences might be interested in the teen angst in the film's introduction. Go to Full Review

Such rapid-fire comedy keeps pace with the near-omnipresent hyperkinetic action, which would wear us to nubs if this movie was a second longer than its 77 minutes. Bottom line, it ain’t half bad... Go to Full Review

While not very memorable or consistent with its comedy, Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again is short, sweet, and earnest enough to please fans of the franchise. Go to Full Review

Daniel M Jul 6 Possibly the dumbest movie ever made. Trying its hardest to be as cringe and unfunny as possible. A slap in the face to the writing of the original movies. In an ideal world, humanity would unite around its collective hatred for this wad of gum on the sole of decency. Spoiler: the hero mostly stands around talking to himself, but his flashlight can be passed around and used to hit an army of demon-dogs. The only thing that makes sense is if this was a CIA psy-op meant to test how low people could lower their standards of sensibility. See more Vicenzo C Mar 7 Night at the Museum: Kamunrah Rises Again lacks a massive dousing of originality, though just like a history book, the film provides an interesting and downright insane story. See more r96 s 07/26/2024 No redeeming qualities. 'Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again' is sequelitis in a nutshell. It only holds the bare minimum of similarities to the original trilogy, with no main cast member from those movies returning. Even at just under 90 minutes, it's a mind-numbingly dull watch. The choice of animation is iffy, too. I will say I could see youngsters enjoying this as a standalone film, to be honest it has the makings of being a television show - which is the avenue they should've gone down instead, could've made it 'What's New, Scooby-Doo?'-esque. The lack of any real connection to the preceding movies then wouldn't actually matter as it'd be a different thing entirely, but given it is a sequel you have to compare it to its predecessors. I obviously wasn't expecting this to be anything quite as enjoyable as the Ben Stiller pictures, though I did think it would at least resemble the other flicks a little bit. Oh well, no biggie. See more Carl J 08/10/2023 A Family Bond or a Missed Connection? Let me begin by saying that this film has a great storyline with tremendous potential, but unfortunately, the filmmakers seem to have targeted an age group that doesn't fully appreciate it. It is not a film that a 9-year-old child would truly enjoy. It was nice to see the beautiful values portrayed in the film, such as friendship, selflessness, and a strong sense of bonding that closely resembles a family bond. However, it would have been better to also include some humor. The film was overly formulaic and lacked originality. I watched this film with my children, and the part that made us laugh the most was the character of the God of Chaos. He was the most comedic element in the film. This film can be described as an episode within a series of children's shows, and nothing more. But to be a standalone film, I don't think it succeeded. We didn't get to know the characters well, and there weren't strong enough motivations to connect the audience with them. In summary, I believe this film was simply a filler for commercial purposes. However, the worst part was the exploitation of the "Night at the Museum" name. See more Dale R 08/06/2023 An animated fourth entry into the Night at the Museum franchise features Larry convincing his now adult son to take over the duties of the night guard. While Kahmunrah, the villain from the third movie, returns to take over the world. These characters didn't feel like the one we fell in love with during the past three movies. Most of the jokes did not land for me and to not have the voice actors of the original movies felt like a lack of respect for the previous content. Has a franchise that involves history, the lack of historical context and the chance to learn a bit about history felt like a missed opportunity. Since this film was animated, it didn't have the real world weight or consequences that the previous films had. Such as the destruction during the fight scenes. It felt like a failed series pilot that is was. Skip this one. See more Epic N 07/24/2023 Fun whimsical comfort See more Read all reviews
