Carl J A Family Bond or a Missed Connection? Let me begin by saying that this film has a great storyline with tremendous potential, but unfortunately, the filmmakers seem to have targeted an age group that doesn't fully appreciate it. It is not a film that a 9-year-old child would truly enjoy. It was nice to see the beautiful values portrayed in the film, such as friendship, selflessness, and a strong sense of bonding that closely resembles a family bond. However, it would have been better to also include some humor. The film was overly formulaic and lacked originality. I watched this film with my children, and the part that made us laugh the most was the character of the God of Chaos. He was the most comedic element in the film. This film can be described as an episode within a series of children's shows, and nothing more. But to be a standalone film, I don't think it succeeded. We didn't get to know the characters well, and there weren't strong enough motivations to connect the audience with them. In summary, I believe this film was simply a filler for commercial purposes. However, the worst part was the exploitation of the "Night at the Museum" name. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/10/23 Full Review Dale R An animated fourth entry into the Night at the Museum franchise features Larry convincing his now adult son to take over the duties of the night guard. While Kahmunrah, the villain from the third movie, returns to take over the world. These characters didn't feel like the one we fell in love with during the past three movies. Most of the jokes did not land for me and to not have the voice actors of the original movies felt like a lack of respect for the previous content. Has a franchise that involves history, the lack of historical context and the chance to learn a bit about history felt like a missed opportunity. Since this film was animated, it didn't have the real world weight or consequences that the previous films had. Such as the destruction during the fight scenes. It felt like a failed series pilot that is was. Skip this one. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 08/06/23 Full Review Epic N Fun whimsical comfort Rated 5 out of 5 stars 07/24/23 Full Review Matthew Z Cute story and decent animation. But it did not jive with the original plot established by B. Stiller and that story. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/01/23 Full Review Movie C Night at The Mueseum: Kahmunrah rises again is a movie that was only made for the sole purpose of Disney + having more originals. The only reason I watched it was because I had enjoyed so much the other Night at the Museum movies. The jokes weren't funny and the plot isn't new just the same story all over again. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/18/23 Full Review Chris M The animation, story and most of the characters are great. I think I know why they went with animated and why the Rotten Tomatoes audience score is so low, Robin Williams is no longer with us, that's no reason to kill the franchise. No matter which movie Dr. McPhee is still the biggest dickhead and the worst part of the movie. But overall, it is on the same level as the other movies. Rated: 6/10 Dec 22, 2022 Full Review Archika Khurana The Times of India Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again is a light and breezy watch – one doesn't entirely revive all the joys of the earlier films but doesn't dampen them either. Rated: 3/5 Dec 19, 2022 Full Review Jennifer Green Common Sense Media The character humor keeps the mood light, and younger audiences might be interested in the teen angst in the film's introduction. Rated: 3/5 Dec 14, 2022 Full Review John Serba Decider Such rapid-fire comedy keeps pace with the near-omnipresent hyperkinetic action, which would wear us to nubs if this movie was a second longer than its 77 minutes. Bottom line, it ain’t half bad... Dec 13, 2022 Full Review Joey Rambles Cultured Vultures While not very memorable or consistent with its comedy, Night at the Museum: Kahmunrah Rises Again is short, sweet, and earnest enough to please fans of the franchise.
