Kathy Fennessy Video Librarian Magazine Night Has a Thousand Eyes has a sensitivity that many films of its genre lack. Highly recommended for classic film collections and film noir library programming. Rated: 3.5/4 Apr 6, 2022 Full Review Peter Canavese Celluloid Dreams A compelling enough supernatural thriller and a kind of forerunner to M. Night Shayamalan. (Kino Lorber Studio Classics blu-ray review). Rated: 2.5/4 Jan 6, 2022 Full Review Nell Dodson Russell Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder [Night Has a Thousand Eyes] gets off to a good start but bogs down midway and flops completely before the finale. Another piece of corn like this and Edward G. Robinson will be doing quickies for his paycheck. Dec 15, 2021 Full Review Matt Brunson Film Frenzy Here's a thriller that should keep viewers alert and engaged. Audience Member i always enjoyed this movie Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member Beer may have helped but I really enjoyed this supernatural film noir from director John Farrow. Edward G. Robinson stars as Triton, a phony psychic answering questions posed by members of the audience (aided by his erstwhile assistants), who starts to have real visions of the future. Although he manages to warn people about (but ultimately not prevent) a few tragedies and help his friends win big at the races, Robinson's visions alarm him and lead him to despair and the life of a recluse. Only later, when he foresees the death of his former partner and then the subsequent murder of that man's daughter, does he emerge from hiding. The film then plays out according to his visions, despite police detective William Demarest's disbelief. Creepy and weird and noir, just the way I like 'em (although I'll admit that some of the supporting actors could be stronger). Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Uno de los primeros film noir en tocar el tema sobrenatural, el argumento se repetiria luego en muchas películas. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/13/23 Full Review Audience Member Uno de los primeros film noir en tocar el tema sobrenatural, el argumento se repetiria luego en muchas películas. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/15/23 Full Review Audience Member Intriguing film noir with Robinson and Russell--A Woolrich Nightmare!! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/22/23 Full Review Audience Member A nice idea for a plot, realised reasonably well. This would benefit massively from digital remastering as the audio was very mumbled and the picture wasn't too sharp either. Maybe even a remake would be a good idea. It'd probably be an easy 7/10 then, but as it stands 6.75/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
