Despite a formulaic premise and a ridiculous twist that completely changes the credibility of the story, Night Hunter is still a fun time.

Starts off promising, but trickles in quality as the story heads to its conclusion. The film suffers from pacing issues and over plotting. The cast is quite good, but Cavill's character is just too shallow. The issue is the characters lack true depth and the filmmaker throws a lot of familiar actors into their roles, but leaves them with nothing to showcase. The filmmaker needed to drop some of the twists to ensure the pacing matched the film he was attempted to make. The thriller aspect of the film demanded a tighter and faster film, not the slow burning film that was delivered. The cat and mouse section of the film was interesting and is never exploited as it should've been. The pacing kills all the momentum, which is odd considering the lack of true character development. There is too much here and it sinks under its own weight. 03/11/2019
