Critics Consensus

Contrived and cliched, Night Hunter wastes a solid cast in pursuit of action-adventure thrills that stubbornly refuse to materialize.

Mark Kermode Kermode & Mayo's Film Review So ludicrously over-the-top... Sep 19, 2019 Full Review Kevin Maher The Times (UK) It's defined by a constipated performance from Cavill and a debut screenplay from the film director David Raymond that's so titter-inducing and derivative that it appears to have come straight from the Spike Jonze satire Adaptation. Rated: 1/5 Sep 13, 2019 Full Review Tim Robey Daily Telegraph (UK) As far as you can work out, the film isn't aiming for slippery Lynchian dream logic or head-scratching dead ends, just stumbling into that arena through sheer confusion. Sep 13, 2019 Full Review Eddie Harrison film-authority.com …for Henry Cavill, it’s a welcome change of pace to see him in a more human role that the usual supermen characters that his physique seems to inspire; he helps make Night Hunter watchable… Rated: 2/5 Feb 25, 2024 Full Review David Nusair Reel Film Reviews ...hopelessly anticlimactic... Rated: 1.5/4 Jan 7, 2023 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies It has an interesting idea which it toys with but never explores. Instead “Night Hunter” embraces things other movies have done better, making it come across as unoriginal and predictable. Rated: 2/5 Aug 24, 2022 Full Review Read all reviews

Filmy S Nomis (also known as Night Hunter) is a disappointing thriller that wastes the talents of Henry Cavill. The film tries to blend crime, mystery, and psychological tension but ends up confused and flat. Instead of suspense, it delivers repetitive scenes of women being tortured, making it feel more exploitative than engaging. The story lacks direction, with no real climax, action, or emotional payoff. Even the female inspector’s role feels underdeveloped. Despite Cavill’s presence, weak writing and uneven pacing make this film a missed opportunity. A forgettable thriller that could have been much more with a tighter script. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 09/05/25 Full Review Elisha I Dark and engaging with some solid performances, but not without flaws. The mystery kept me hooked, though a few twists felt a little over the top and the pacing uneven at times. Still, it’s a decent thriller that delivers enough tension to be worth the watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/25/25 Full Review George S Εξαιρετική ταινία. Την απολαύσαμε με παρέα φουλ. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 08/17/25 Full Review Audience Member This is my first review, this movie was such a piece of trash I had to make an account in order to review it. I actually got angry watching this. The first 15 minute seemed like it had something going for it until the mentally challenged guy was caught. After that downhill immediately and fast. Probably the worst movie ever made, not because of low budget or talent but because of a madman screaming and crying, abusive cops, poor acting from everyone. This movie wanted to commit suicide after 15 minutes and it succeeded. Whomever is responsible for this atrocity should pray for forgiveness from the film gods. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 08/06/25 Full Review Gregory S It’s really too bad. The cast is absolutely terrific. Everything about this movie is just blah. It tried so hard to be something that it isn’t. Just a tragedy. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 07/05/25 Full Review CHi A Interesting. Kind of clunky but gripping too, with something poignant at the ending, something sad. I'm not a fan of serial killer type movies but I think this is worth a watch. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/22/25 Full Review Read all reviews
