Great for Halloween Rated 5/5 Stars •  Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member A movie's budget certainly doesn't get any sadder (and cheaper) than this. I realize this was just a TV movie done in the spirit of recreating that legendary headless spectre, but even for "made for TV" standards, Night of the Headless Horseman falls piteously low. I've seen episodes of Jimmy Neutron with more compelling storytelling than this; I've played retro video games with better graphics than this. While I respect what the filmmakers were attempting, there's very little audience to receive a garbagefest like this. There's no point in watching Night of the Headless Horseman when you could see the more accurate animated Disney classic, or Tim Burton's Gothic live-action film. In the same vein as those countless Shakespeare productions, Night of the Headless Horseman suffers from the insurmountable problem of failing to offer anything new to the tale.
