With a surging tidal wave threatening to submerge his country, Japanese scientist Dr. Tadokoro (Keiju Kobayashi) takes his concerns to government officials. As Prime Minister Yamamoto (Tetsurô Tanba) urgently looks for a way to save his people, a rescue mission is being planned thousands of miles away. In New York, Warren Richards (Lorne Greene), the U.S. delegate to the United Nations, implores his colleagues to set up an evacuation plan in Japan's hour of need.
