eric b 02/18/2013 An inexplicable college of James Garfield's assassination, a Civil War soldier wandering around Manhattan, banal interviews about the singles scene and a deadpan kook preaching about the need for animals to wear clothing. You figure it out. Some pleasant period music (Cream, the Monkees) helps the mess go down easier. See more 01/26/2013 No More Excuses paralleled the civil war, animal nudity, and the sexual revolution. What do you mean what do these things have in common? Isn't it obvious, psh. The first twenty minutes or so was interesting, but it became to repetitive, going over the same things again and again. It was enjoyable over all, but I thinking adding a couple more topics would make it a legit satire master piece. See more 07/09/2012 Robert Downey Sr.'s underground comedy has several interwoven strands, including a time-traveling Civil War soldier lost in Manhattan, a man advocating clothing animals for decency's sake, and documentary footage of young New Yorkers discussing the singles bar scene. If the movie is about anything other than how crazy the late 1960s were, you won't pick up on it, but it's an occasionally interesting time capsule with some vintage psychedelic tunes to help pass the time.
