Peter P Fun and entertaining action-adventure. More in the likes of Rambo than a Martial Arts movie, but has some cool fights and plenty of fireworks. Exotic locations keeps this worth seeing. The cast is likable and has good chemistry. Loren Avedon is this cheerful, carefree american typical for the 80s, Cynthia Rothrock as sassy helicopter pilot is also fun. Unfortunately her fights are rather short. Matthias Hues gives a worthy villain. Don't expect anything sophisticated here, but as pure popcorn Entertainment this is a delight. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/24/23 Full Review Audience Member very underrated late 80s American martial arts action. movies like this helped inspire 90s era coin op video games such as Street Fighter II. it's written like a background story for a character in GI Joe. the casual racism of films like this reminds me of how barren 1980s video stores were void of asian characters. even when the story is set in Asia all the speaking parts are played by wht ppl & it was exciting to see bc that's a major upgrade compared to the 70s or 60s or 50s etc etc. i love movies like this it makes me nostalgic for my old video store. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member '80s classic, a martial arts mix of Rambo and Kickboxer. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member no getting down to it this is a sequel that has absolutely nothing to do with the original the plot is fairly simple some say like commando. about a white man in thiland with his Asian girlfriend and one night his girlfriend is abducted by a Cambodian military squad with a grudge against the Asian woman's family and most of Thailand period the white kid enlists help from a older guy and a badass chick to get his girl back now the acting in this isn't the best but unlike the first its believable and good enough the movie has some problems such as I didn't care for the subplot of it trying to make it look like a Asian war or something at times when that was tied it I yawned but overall a surprisingly fun martial arts action movie Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A story of honour and loyalty in wartime, Saving Private Ryan is one of the best movies of all time. But this is No Retreat, No Surrender 2: Raging Thunder! Kurt McKinney an Jean Claude Van Damme decided to skip out on the sequel, and the studio recast Loren Avedon as a man looking for wealthy girlfriend when she's kidnapped by Commies. Tagging alongside him is not the Russian villain, and instead an old friend named Mack. Cynthia Rothrock joins in for this First Blood Part II clone. Hwang Jang Lee has a small role ans is underused, but the movie has some solid martial arts action and plenty of gunplay. Its an entertaining cheesefest (the desk scene) with one heck of a villain.
