tedious, uninspired attempt at a slice of life in Recife, Brazil. It has the patina of accuracy but is one long drawn out slog with next to no narrative or meaning. At the very end the revelation that the security guys are actually there to avenge a family death hardly makes up for all the wasted time before. Sometimes films are made that are simply not very good, but they get made anyway. This is one of them.

Neighboring sounds, neighboring lights and neighboring class fights. This should be the full title of this realistic look into a Recife street and its people, in Brazil. Overlong, but overall the film is an interesting and artistic view into the sociology and problems of an entire country (and many more).
