Susan L This is a quirky movie with a compelling female lead, Odette, who straddles the life of being a salesclerk in a formerly industrial town in Belgium and her reading life which provides an escape, particularly when she reads the works a beloved author. What I liked about this film is Odette knows exactly who she is and is comfortable in her own skin. Of all the characters, she is the one with the greatest integrity and compassion. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Loved this book. Loved this film. Feel good. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member So cute! A wonderful movie with a great cast! Very funny, sweet and charming. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 02/01/23 Full Review Audience Member One of those frothy french stories like Amalie that satisfies your sweet tooth. It teases smiles all the way and who can beat a score by Josephine Baker? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review Audience Member A marvelous French film, shot beautifully with an incredible eye for details. This little jewel of optimism is delight from start to finish. Catherine Frot is enchanting as always and her outbreaks into Josephine Baker's songs are a riot. A must see for anyone willing to hop on the ride to happiness. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/26/23 Full Review Audience Member I came across this film by chance and I'm so glad I did. It's a quirky, warm romantic comedy that made me smile all the way through. It managed to deal with issues such as depression, loss and hopelessness without trivialising them. Catherine Frot was fantastic. Watch this film! Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Read all reviews
