Claudio C Office Uprising (2018) The Zolt Effect (11,639 - 23 Apr 2025 - by Claudio Carvalho) The reckless and lazy Desmond (Brenton Thwaites) works at the accounting department of the Ammotech, a corporation that designs and manufactures weapons. He spends most of the working hours stoned or developing a video game of his own, and he has a crush on his co-worker and friend Samantha “Sam” (Jane Levy). His cubicle co-worker and friend Mourad (Karan Soni) is worried about losing his job. When Desmond’s chief Nusbaum (Levi Adam) calls him in his office, he warns Desmond that the company is merging with another weapons manufacturer and there will be a downsizing. Further, he demands a report from Desmond that is late. By the end of the working period, the company management calls the employees for a motivational lecture, but Desmond leaves the room to prepare the report. While leaving the office, Desmond sees pallets of Zolt beverage to be distributed to the participants of the meeting. On the next morning, Desmond realizes that every colleague that drank Zolt has become a zombie-like creature and there is an outbreak in the office. Further, Sam has only drunk half can and has not totally transformed and Mourad has not drunk since he is fasting because of the Ramadan. Now the trio tries to exit the building that is sealed. “Office Uprising” (2018) is a horror comedy movie about a beverage that turns people into a zombie-like violent creature. The “hero” is a slaker that spends mosy of the working hours stoned and developing a video game. There is a lot of gore and silly and funny situations. One of my favorites is when the CEO Franklin Gantt tells Nusbaum that his office has a 3 in. steel plate Norwegian door but Nusbaum recalls him that it is installed on drywall. My vote is seven. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 09/12/23 Full Review Brian B I wish the producers luck in any future theft of intellectual property lawsuit that Pegg and Frost might bring. Shaun of the Dead? But it's a really good film for those ‘just let me get away from reality' times we all know about. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 08/26/23 Full Review Read all reviews
