Louis Menkins is in the final weeks of his 24-year prison sentence. Though he doesn't talk about it, Louis' nervousness about adapting to life on the outside is affecting every decision he makes. Chief among those is his choice to befriend a new prisoner named Tracy Beecher, who is facing 23 years for murder. Can be a tad slow, a touch too simple, and even a little distracted from making a larger, more declarative point about modern incarceration. But by carving its own path through Louis...it's nothing short of original.

This movie is an absolute gem, with extremely serious issues to present as "food for thought" even as it says, 'Bon appétite!' -Do yourself a great big favour, and watch it, then think about it very carefully. To do otherwise would be a crime deserving immense punishment, you know!
