paul s This was not the most compelling or remarkable movie that I've ever seen. I liked some of the people cast in it, but the story wasn't anything remarkable. It was in fact quite silly and predictable. It was worth seeing for .99 cents, however, I don't think I'd ever bother watching it again. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review julia p A British public school becomes the setting for a Cyrano de Bergerac type drama. An amusing way to spend 90 minutes... Not sure of rating, but might be suitable to take your children / teenagers to! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Ian Freer Empire Magazine A likable debut from Toby MacDonald, *Old Boys* adds a new lick to old tropes and delivers a mostly quirky appealing take on young love and the need to speak in your own voice. Rated: 3/5 Feb 26, 2019 Full Review Kevin Maher Times (UK) An opportunity to say something, anything, about public school life in Britain is gleefully squandered in this overfamiliar join-the-dots drama from the pen of Jack Whitehall's gag writer, Freddy Syborn. Rated: 2/5 Feb 22, 2019 Full Review Clarisse Loughrey Independent (UK) Although Old Boys finds nothing new to say in revamping a classic, it at least swerves the most obvious pitfalls of the genre to deliver a romcom that's both sweet and satisfying. Rated: 3/5 Feb 22, 2019 Full Review Tom Beasley VultureHound This heightened world gives the whole movie a bizarre tone that is initially jarring, but ultimately creates much of the film's enjoyable quirk and comedic spark. Rated: 3/5 Aug 15, 2020 Full Review Chris Hunneysett Daily Mirror (UK) all the stronger for refusing to be slavish to its source Rated: 3/5 Jun 19, 2019 Full Review Francesca Angelini Sunday Times (UK) The tropes and jokes are old, but MacDonald wrings plenty of fun out of his setting.
