Audience Member Esther Williams plays a movie star and guess what - she swims! At some point all the Esther Williams movies are starting to get a bit formulaic, but they are enjoyable none the less. Rated 3.5/5 Stars •  Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/03/23 Full Review Audience Member Esther Williams romantic musical comedy about movie star Williams in the middle of a love triangle on the set of her latest film. Navy technical advisor Peter Lawford is in love with her, but she's engaged to her on set co-star, Ricardo Montalban. It's all fluff, but it enjoyable enough. Montalban is great, as always and it's fun to see him do some musical numbers. There's also Jimmy Durante, Xavier Cugat and one of my favorite female dancers, Cyd Charisse. But the story!...! f-ck! what a sham. This movie teaches you that it is OK to stalk a woman you have 'loved' for 3 years (even though she does not know you exist), break up her perfectly happy engagement with another man she loves, kidnap her and them 'make' her fall in love with you.
