Chuck Bowen Slant Magazine Conor Horgan has a nice eye and ear for disturbingly intimate little incidents that tell us more than any series of expository speeches could ever hope to. Rated: 3/4 Mar 27, 2011 Full Review Steve Dollar Wall Street Journal Solid acting and stellar cinematography accomplish more than a truckload of special effects. Audience Member Slow, plodding, boring and depressing, horrible ending...dont bother. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Interesting take on what happens to ordinary folks when the lights go out for the last time. When society collapses and money no longer has value, what happens? This is a very quiet post-apocalypse film. No zombies, no burning cities. Just 4 friends holed up in a cabin somewhere near Dublin Ireland. The film is really about trying to maintain humanity when society dissolves. I liked it for the most part, but it is a bit slow and dreary. Reminded me a bit of Cormac McCarthy's "The Road" (though not nearly as depressing). Good film for a rainy Sunday afternoon. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/02/23 Full Review Audience Member Can see why the world ending ...with only those 4 left to respresent humanity....one big fat yawn Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member With neither zombies nor cannibals to hold our attention, Mr. Horgan relies on a single question: When society breaks down, how quickly does our humanity follow? Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/25/23 Full Review Audience Member It's a testament to how good this movie is that after the first fifteen minutes or so you realise that it doesn't really matter what disaster led to the collapse of civilisation. The intriguing plot asks the question over and over again: what will this small group of people do to survive? The execution is sublime, the acting wonderful and the direction very smooth. Excellent. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Do yourself a favor and stay away from this film - its boring, makes no sense and although quite a short film, it felt like an eternity.
