Chris Pearson Radio Times The message that one should enjoy art for its own sake and that financial exploitation of art is self-destructive is subtly transmitted amid the exquisite, bitter-sweet humor. Rated: 5/5 Aug 22, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews

santafe j At the tender age of 77, I still consider this cartoon one of the very best ever made. And an absolute must-see for any child being introduced to the world of animation and cartoons. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member There isn't much that I can say that hasn't already been said about this cartoon. It's funny, and it works. I feel that you could show it to anyone from any culture and they'd probably find it funny as well (you don't need to understand the English words that the frog is singing to appreciate the humor of the situation.) The animation looks great, and the songs are surprisingly catchy (I've had several of them stuck in my head for the last few days.) If you haven't already seen this classic, you should seek it out. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member A lovely and occasionally hilarious short movie by the dream team of Chuck Jones and Michael Maltese. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member It's out there in the most brilliant way! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/16/23 Full Review Audience Member This classic Merrie Melodies short can be seen for what it is on the surface: a very amusing animation about a talented top hat sporting frog who sings rag-time era hits and dances with a cane or, more interestingly, we could look at the supernatural singing amphibian as a sort of lesson on greed. The two human characters try to exploit the creature's talent for profits which leads only to misfortune and frustration. Asides from the moral profundities, One Froggy Evening boasts a memorable, toe tapping soundtrack and indelible animation. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Read all reviews
