Cath Clarke Guardian More than a little suspension of disbelief is required and, increasingly, I felt as if I was watching a video game. It’s a movie with a fairly low IQ too... Rated: 2/5 Jan 9, 2024 Full Review Sean Chandler Sean Chandler Talks About While the single shot gimmick compromises the quality in places, it also gives the film a relentless sense of urgency. If you're an action fan that can forgive clunky dialogue and some weak performances, this movie provides a unique viewing experience. Rated: B- Feb 19, 2024 Full Review Alistair Lawrence Common Sense Media Adkins throws himself into proceedings with the same admirable commitment as ever, but even one shot feels like one too many this time around. Jan 30, 2024 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online One More Shot is a perfect place to dip one’s toes into a wild, energetic sub-genre. Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Nick Rogers Midwest Film Journal Anyone who maintains a straight face while insisting this is an improvement on the "Die Hard 2" conceit is at best jockeying for online attention and, at worst, illustrating supreme ignorance of meathead action-movie culture. One take, zero excitement. Rated: 2/5 Jan 20, 2024 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Perhaps one doesn’t come to this style of entertainment for the drama, and “One More Shot” certainly delivers when it comes to bone-breaking, blood-spattering events. Timothy E Scott Adkins and Michael Jai White. I love when both of them playing movies together. Doesn't matter who's the bad guy they always make the movie good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/21/25 Full Review Dibyo C "One More Shot" offers a high-energy action experience but suffers from a confusing storyline and an antagonist that feels more like a plot twist than a well-developed character. The film introduces the villain as a seemingly neutral or even sympathetic figure, only to reveal later that she is the mastermind behind the chaos. However, this sudden shift feels jarring, as we get very little backstory or context about who she is or what drives her. The lack of information about her motivations and history leaves the audience wondering why she becomes the antagonist in the first place. The movie’s overall plot is similarly thin, relying more on action sequences than on developing a cohesive narrative. While the shootouts and tense moments are engaging, they don’t serve a larger purpose within the story, and the lack of character depth—particularly regarding the antagonist—weakens the emotional stakes. By the time the big reveal about the villain happens, it feels less like a natural twist and more like a last-minute plot device. The ending, too, doesn’t offer much closure and leaves several questions unanswered, making it feel rushed and unsatisfying. In the end, "One More Shot" is a typical action flick with an underdeveloped antagonist and a storyline that doesn’t quite come together. While fans of pure action might still enjoy it, those looking for a strong plot and character development will likely be disappointed. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/07/25 Full Review Audience Member Absolutely terrible. All it has is the “one continuous shot” gimmick which becomes a major distraction, not that the thoroughly rotten acting (particularly the part of Agent Lomax, who I would say seems like an eighth grader in a school play but that would be too unfair to eighth graders in school plays) and non-plot couldn’t use a major distraction. Stay far away from this turkey- you’re welcome. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 01/03/25 Full Review Trevor T A generic shoot 'em up, beat 'em up film. Weak story line. Poor acting. Wabbly camera work that tries to be dramatic but ends up being just annoying. On the whole, poor and not really worth bothering with. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 11/26/24 Full Review Muhammad A All of the team work, from the actor and the crew are insane. All film in one single shot camera no cut for about 2hr . Wtffff.. well done. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/27/24 Full Review Bryan B Throwback to die hard and under seige. Don't disect the plot as in doesn't matter. Just enjoy the gun and fights.
