Cath Clarke Guardian More than a little suspension of disbelief is required and, increasingly, I felt as if I was watching a video game. It’s a movie with a fairly low IQ too... Rated: 2/5 Jan 9, 2024 Full Review Sean Chandler Sean Chandler Talks About While the single shot gimmick compromises the quality in places, it also gives the film a relentless sense of urgency. If you're an action fan that can forgive clunky dialogue and some weak performances, this movie provides a unique viewing experience. Rated: B- Feb 19, 2024 Full Review Alistair Lawrence Common Sense Media Adkins throws himself into proceedings with the same admirable commitment as ever, but even one shot feels like one too many this time around. Jan 30, 2024 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online One More Shot is a perfect place to dip one’s toes into a wild, energetic sub-genre. Jan 23, 2024 Full Review Nick Rogers Midwest Film Journal Anyone who maintains a straight face while insisting this is an improvement on the "Die Hard 2" conceit is at best jockeying for online attention and, at worst, illustrating supreme ignorance of meathead action-movie culture. One take, zero excitement. Rated: 2/5 Jan 20, 2024 Full Review Brian Orndorf Blu-ray.com Perhaps one doesn’t come to this style of entertainment for the drama, and “One More Shot” certainly delivers when it comes to bone-breaking, blood-spattering events. Jack G They would've been better off placing a title card at the beginning of the film that said "Sorry, we couldn't come up with a plot, but here is an hour and forty minutes of fight choreography shot as a oner instead." and called it a day. It is clear that that is what they wanted to do. The writing, acting, direction, and everything else comes second to the action and editing and are an afterthought. The action itself is mindless and mediocre and the shot as if it was one take approach is a gimmick to hide everything else. The movie isn't interesting to watch because of this. It's just tedious to get through. There are so many better ways to spend your time, and I wish I just watched something else instead. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/19/24 Full Review Jen M I thought it would keep my attention but it didn’t. Too predictable, it’s been done before so many times. Not to mention Lomax was annoying and even though she tried to be/sound tough, her voice was like listening nails on a chalkboard. Better moves with the same premise out there. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 06/24/24 Full Review Ben S I went into this not expecting much, and it was pretty much exactly what I expected with one major exception: Lomax is horribly cast. The actress is absolutely not believable in the role. Everyone else does what they can with the script they're given but this actress seems to have been told "imagine you're shooting for the worst porn plot in the world...you'll be keeping your clothes on, just go for this acting quality." Not that everyone else in the cast is just waiting on their turn for an Oscar, but its like the cast from a reasonable college theater production was forced to work with the hot girl from high school who never had much talent to begin with. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 06/16/24 Full Review Mark D I sm impressed with this "one shot" camera trick. The amount of planning and coordination for this type of filming is impressive. The immersion into the action was off the charts for me. I thought Adkins was FANTASTICLY bada$$. The fight choreography was incredible and realistic. I love him as an American Navy Seal. He is VERY underrated. Adkins deserves a AAA budget movie. Sometimes he was acting, but sometimes he was showing his incredible skills and stamina. He wasn't actually ACTING in some of the stunts. He was just constantly on the run and taking down baddies. He was really being TESTED with this filming technique. It was a great action movie. The only acting that was borderline, but tolerable, was Alexis Knapp. Hence the 4 stars. Otherwise, this action flick is a 5. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/11/24 Full Review Wink D I cannot express to you how awful this movie is. The plot is tired and the story done many times. The actors are all awful. The dialog is quite bad as if it were written by someone who had never spoke to another human before. The dialog did not flow from the actors. The directing was minorly ok. The camera shots that are more like a selfie stick were not great and desired to be unique and impressive but ended up as just a movie shot on handheld with additional shake after the steadicam (?) - the only impressive part of the movie is that they filmed in an actual airport in the UK. This goes to show you hat who you know gets a movie made… not how good the script is - and if you can get Tom berenger and Alexis Knapp signed then your shitty movie will get made. Literally the only reason I gave this movie a half star is for those two actors and they weren’t great. This movie appears to have a budget but spent that budget on two actors and nothing on the rest of the actors not a believable plot and definitely got the script for free…. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 05/31/24 Full Review DuVay K What I call not even a B Movie. But more of a WANNABE movie. Stilted Stunts. Wooden Dialogue. But kool to watch if U aint got nothing better to do. Only thing worse, are ANY films made by SABAN aka The KING OF THE WANNABE MOVIES. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 05/26/24 Full Review Read all reviews
