It would be nice to report that there’s more to it. But there barely is, aside from some brutal bits of slapstick violence that temporarily mar the heroine’s face and body with bruises and blood.

"One More Shot" doesn’t seem to know what kind of film it wants to be, potentially turning off viewers in the mood for a wild ride through time, while passes at seriousness are borderline absurd. It’s all very unsatisfying.

Party like it's 1999. One More Shot is a 2025 Australian time-loop comedy directed by Nicholas Clifford 🥃 It’s good 🙂 Worth a watch. I’d recommend it if you like this genre 👍🏼 New Years Eve. 1999. Minnie discovers a bottle of time travelling tequila. Each shot takes her back to the start of the night - giving her a bottle’s worth of shots to win back her old flame Joe, and change the course of her millennium.

It's a solid tour de force in a film that works in many ways and demonstrates good intentions from beginning to end. The protagonist's journey toward maturity and learning to value life are elements that envelop this story in a simple film that at times seems like it might take a bigger leap, but it sticks to its noble intentions. For fans of the genre, a satisfying and entertaining proposal.
