In an effort to prevent a terrorist attack on Washington D.C., an elite squad of Navy SEALs led by Lt. Blake Harris (Scott Adkins) and a junior CIA analyst Zoe Anderson (Ashley Greene) must retrieve a prisoner from a CIA black site island prison. Tensions flare as Deputy Site Manager Tom Shields (Ryan Phillippe) refuses to release the suspected terrorist based solely on Anderson's intel, but when the base comes under attack by waves of insurgents they must band together to complete the mission.

The One Take camera technique is new enough in mainstream cinema to make One Shot interesting to action fanatics, but only those who want a relentless shower of violence will be entertained by the onslaught.

Lots of gunfire, explosions, blood & guts and so on and so forth. Most of the conversation is shouting, very loud shouting. Story without much color. Cast not very convincing in character. Feels very low budget, although they tried their absolute best.

I liked this film. Why? Well, I don't play video games so this style is new to me. Someone called it a student film or straight to video candidate. I'm happy I am not that jaded. It's a great action film - and I think the feel of the film as a believable reality to the story. I recommend it

There are far meatier entries in the single take style. The novelty elevates a very standard script, and makes for an interesting watch, but likely won't inspire many rewatches outside of Scott Adkins' core fan base.
