Audience Member An intense thriller set in a malfuncitoned elevator. The films packs a lot of character, suspense and action into such a small pace without ever crossing the line too the ridiculous. The fact that this is a German production probably helps. The actors are strong, the dialogue is realistic and the whole production department oozes the grim flair of the 1980s. The film develops interesting relationships between the characters that topicalise the usual suspects such as love and neglect, but adds some existential failure and politics to the mix, creating an allegory that is more than the perfect fit for the ever descending elevator of doom. Topped up with an unexpected shebang in the end, this is most definitely a very precious hidden gem. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
