Juan Carlos Coto South Florida Sun-Sentinel The Outing has all the conventions of a low-budget horror film: overacting, cheap special effects, harsh lighting and nude teens, to name a few. Worst of all, its story is laughable and largely derivative. Rated: 0/4 Aug 19, 2021 Full Review Dustin Putman TheBluFile.com "The Outing" is a serviceable, somewhat middle-of-the-road '80s slasher with its supernatural leanings and uniqueness of location the two key differentiating elements. David R Low budget. Bad acting. Goofy "genie/djin;" apparently a practical (18 ft talll?) monster with blurred camera and lighting work and unintelligible speech to ineffectively mask how goofy it looks/sounds. If you want this concept in a decent b-movie, I'd recommend "Wishmaster." Still, this was (predictably) fun, if you like this sorta thing. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/17/24 Full Review Audience Member A story about what happens when teens plan an overnight stay at a museum (without adult supervision) and someone unleashes the spirit inside of a magic lamp by accident. No carpets, just a magic lamp in this one. The beginning may pique your interest and then leave you feeling piqued by the rest. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie has some bad acting! Cartoonish effects! If you like bad horror movies, then you'll love this. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This could have been good, but was marred by bad acting and a bad resolution. The idea of the jinn was good, and the prop for the lamp was actually quite good. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member A watchable (yet forgettable) horror film about the supernatural mayhem unleashed when some dumbass kids release a spirit from a brass lamp, as if they've never heard of the curse of the djinn. Rental. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member This was a ridiculously fun 80s gore movie! The end shot makes no sense whatsoever!
