Bobby Riley (Pete Jones), an affable Irish-American guy-next-door, is gay and still in the closet. Bobby's discomfort with being openly gay is a source of friction in his relationship with his partner, Andy (Michael McDonald). His sister, straight-talking lawyer Maggie (Julie R. Pearl), knows Bobby's secret, and when their father dies, she persuades him to come out to his three brothers. The revelation doesn't just surprise his brothers, it forces some other family secrets to be revealed.

David Lamble Bay Area Reporter It's to Jones' credit as a writer that we understand why Bobby Riley is reluctant to leave the comfortable womb of a spirited Catholic clan. May 22, 2020 Full Review Don Willmott Filmcritic.com A tip of the Cubs cap to Jones for approaching what is usually a lugubrious topic with wit and a light heart. Rated: 3.5/5 Nov 26, 2007 Full Review Mike McGranaghan Aisle Seat The problem is that Pete Jones the director has cast Pete Jones the actor in the lead role - and Pete Jones the actor is not particularly compelling. Rated: 1.5/4 Nov 10, 2007 Full Review Erik Childress eFilmCritic.com If this was the first script chosen on Project Greenlight, not only wouldn't there be Pete Jones' sophomore slump, there likely wouldn't have been ANY second Project. Audience Member Double post on Flixster! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Double post on Flixster! Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review Audience Member An insruction manual of how not to come out to your conservitive Catholic family. But... (surprisesurprize) there is NO right way to come out to that. Only the only way. So get used to it. This to, like all bowel movements repressing shit too long denied into impacted grunts & furtive empty stares at nothing but the accumulating urge to let go, shall surely pass with its mighty wind of relief. Halae Lieu Yeaha! Oh Man! Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Cute story about 4 brothers and a sister dealing with the death of a relative. Soon after they find out one of the brothers is gay. The 3 brothers try to deal with it in their own way while the sister tries to keep the family together. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/22/23 Full Review Audience Member 6.5/10. Likable characters, good performances and a believable presentation help make this film work. The characters are so nicely developed, you really learn to care about them. Good screenplay. It has a few slow spots, but overall a fine film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 01/30/23 Full Review Audience Member What must I do to see a movie that is even decent? Do I have to pay the director millions of dollars? If you figure it out, please tell me.
