Ben Croll TheWrap Of all its substantial merits, Marta Prus' harrowing and thoroughly captivating sports doc Over The Limit is perhaps most surprising for its sustained bouts of misdirection. Feb 12, 2020 Full Review Jeannette Catsoulis New York Times By the end of the movie's brief 74 minutes, this resilient young woman seems shockingly untraumatized; the audience might not be so lucky. Oct 11, 2018 Full Review Alexandra Heller-Nicholas AWFJ.org The strength of Prus's film comes from her determined refusal to mine Mamun's inescapably fraught situation for melodramatic effect. Oct 3, 2018 Full Review Adam Lubitow Rochester City Newspaper An at times harrowing dive into exactly what it takes to be an Olympic champion. Mar 14, 2019 Full Review Michael Ward Should I See It Prus' ability to capture the essential elements of Mamun's training regimen is the linchpin which makes Over the Limit such an intriguing film to experience. Rated: 4/5 Jan 13, 2019 Full Review Chelsea Phillips-Carr POV Magazine An exploration of one woman's ambition, Over the Limit goes beyond its simple narrative in its psychological questions. dave d It was a split with hubby and wife on this date night documentary. Hubby never got into it, but did enjoy the music. We're supposed to be rooting for a character who we never see succeed. It's like watching a team lose every game and then win the Super Bowl. It doesn't make any sense, because they lost every time. It doesn't take us for a journey, instead plopping us down like aka-seltzer into a glass. Wife disagreed saying, I didn't mind that the storyline wasn't straightforward. You can connect with each individual character, but the story still wasn't particularly awe-inspiring. Hubby: 5.1 Wife: 7.1 Average Score: 6.1/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Well done documentary. I cant believe how seemingly well adjusted 5he girl is after all the verbal abuse. I guess she's used to it. I'd like to have a few words with one or both of those evil old witch's. So what if the abuse technique works. It's still abuse. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Read all reviews
