The arm-wrestling championship eats up about a third of the movie, which is a lot of grunting, snarling and perspiring. All things being relative, this beats what passes for drama in the rest of the movie.

A underrated Stallone movie. It delivers a great message about father/ Son relationships and how important they are. The arm wrestling is a terrific test of strength. Tim Treakle

A late-80's Sly, underdog classic and a man-film in all it's glory, with a great soundtrack to boot! Seen it 40-50 times since childhood, looking forward to another 40-50 viewings!

Spoilers: go watch before you read. Wow, what a strange movie! I guess kidnapping was not illegal in the 80s! I give them credit for making an entire movie about an arm wrestling competition and actually making it suspenseful. The final bout was of course the best! I gotta hand it to this movie, it actually was entertaining. Nothing ground-breaking, but a charming 80s gem nonetheless. Sure, go watch it.
