Audience Member So, it's fine and dandy to be a serial killer on TV, BUT, it's not fine and dandy to be a lesbian on TV? Huh? Well, it was 1992 after all and so the sponsors said no, no, no to Aileen Wuornos's known lesbian ways. But, yes, yes, yes to her murdering men. Good Lord! We have come a long way since 1992, because only 11 years later we got the Oscar-winning film Monster, which was a wayyyyyyy better movie and Aileen Wuornos got to be out of the closet. You know it's bad to be queer when being a serial killer is a better option than loving the same sex. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Jane Smart is outstanding, no less than Charlize Theron in the 2003 movie (that is of course more accurate and artistic). The quality of this movie is a tv one but still the cast is very good. A few details are not exactly as the real story, the saddest parts of Aileen childhood are vaguely mentioned. I wonder if this is the movies that the cops and some relatives of Aileen were trying to get money from. Hoyt Hilsman Variety While the movie does not purport to offer a larger message or moral about this female serial killer, it does offer a fascinating and poignant miniaturist portrait of the troubled lives of Wuornos and her companion Moore. Jan 29, 2018 Full Review Read all reviews
