Grim T Inspirational. Guidebook on how to love each other and love nature. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/05/23 Full Review Audience Member Ties Everything Up At The End In True Schmaltz Feel-Good Fashion, Happy-Clappy Tune Cued & Ready. Not All That Good Overall Because The Characters Are All In Self-Depreciation Sadness, Which Is Well Over Most Kid's Heads. I Figure The Target Audience (Kids+Families) Will Tune Out To That Stuff.. As Did I.. It's Too Depressing.. I Just Awaited Predictable Happy Ending. Thankfully That Arrived Prior To Me Nodding Off. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 02/21/23 Full Review Audience Member Cute movie though the ending was a bit over the top. Would have been better without Sam Worthington. He's useless in this movie despite that fact that most of the budget probably went to him. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/12/23 Full Review Audience Member This is an inspiring children's movie about learning how to overcome one's losses, with a plot that resembles the one from ‘Karate Kid 2' but with some class performances as well. The story revolves around 11-year-old with a challenging relationship with his dad after the loss of a mother. After discovering his talent for making and flying paper planes, he enters the national championship… Ed Oxenbould is brilliant as a boy, Sam Worthington (‘Avatar') does a good job a dad in his short screen time, while Terry Norris is a scene stealer as quirky grandpa. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review dax h 15 year old son's review. He liked it. He said it was interesting. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating

Mark Kermode Observer (UK) Terry Norris steals the show as the irrepressible grandpa who has little intention of putting his rakish fighter-pilot past behind him. Rated: 3/5 Oct 25, 2015 Full Review Geoffrey Macnab Independent (UK) Ed Oxenbould, the talented Aussie child actor also recently seen in The Visit, gives another appealing performance in this otherwise bland and flimsy kids' movie. Rated: 2/5 Oct 23, 2015 Full Review Peter Bradshaw Guardian The planes' flight is invariably CGI-assisted, and the resulting comedy is mild, but there is a relaxed, happy atmosphere. Rated: 3/5 Oct 22, 2015 Full Review Leigh Paatsch Herald Sun (Australia) A lovely, locally-made children's pic. Rated: 3/5 Oct 2, 2020 Full Review Calum Baker One Room With A View Paper Planes hardly pushes the family film envelope, but fine acting and deft direction help stick the landing... Rated: 4/5 Apr 18, 2019 Full Review Matthew Anderson CineVue A good, old-fashioned family film full of high-flying imagination and real life values, exuding a familiar but reassuring fun and warmth that will have even the greatest of cynics reaching for the stationery.
