Synopsis
This documentary explores Paris from the turn of the 20th century up to the commencement of the Great War in 1914. Prominent artists, painters, writers and entertainers display and discuss their works, offering a glimpse into the vastly changing period. Famous landmarks, including the Arc de Triomphe, the streets of Montmartre and the Paris Exposition, display the shifting face of the world-famous city as it moves toward modernity and, unknowingly, a catastrophic four-year conflict.
