Synopsis
Maria's nightmare begins when her little boy is hit by a car. The driver faces no penalty because Maria's indigenous background places her at a disadvantage within a racist justice system. Nasty rumors spread among her hostile neighbors, who are suspicious of her status as a divorced, single mother. With the help of her family, her lawyer and a Human Rights Commission worker, Maria sets out to bring her son's killer to justice as she comes to terms with her grief.
