Synopsis
This examination of Anna Pavlova's (Galina Belyayeva) life shows her ascent from a relatively weak student at a Leningrad ballet academy to prima ballerina and the head of her own troupe. The film also shows her different relationships: her work with choreographer Mikhail Fokine (Sergei Shakourov) at Diaghalev's company, and her rapport with manager and purported husband, Viktor D'Andre (James Fox). In her travels, from Russia to London and Paris, her immense talent is revealed.
