Luke Buckmaster Guardian 05/03/2016
The cast do their best with the material but the scattered structure of the film does them no favours. Go to Full Review

Not all the subplots arrive at satisfactory conclusions but, scene by scene, Pawno is an attractively modest, engaging work. Go to Full Review

Russell B Jul 23 Well composed movie with many characters entwined into a basic storyline, there are a few laughs. I would have liked a better ending, but to be fair it was pretty much a day full of events... See more bob c May 5 Junk. I have to write more for posting. Junk See more James K Apr 30 Fantastic snapshot of what life is like in the Australian streets dealing with addiction, pawn shops, the portrayal was spot on in regards to the dynamics of the day to day life in an aussie pawn shop, the sub plot of Danny was heart warming, I think thus quiet film is fantastic and very well acted, I'd recommend it for sure See more Peter B Apr 11 There is a bit of Shakespeare in this one though no fantasy at all and a bit too close to the bone for many. What were those marks on her arms? See more Reviews For You A Mar 30 Written by one of the starring actors I felt this was like a stage play taken to the movies. Set around two main cast, the Pawn Shop owner and his sidekick. They intertwine with the locals who frequent the store or hangout in the street nearby. Aggression and sweetness sit side by side as do kindness of heart and brutal violence. Multiple facets bind several characters together in humour and fists. The uplifting surprise at the end shows us life still goes on for some but not all. A dark look at Melbourne’s Footscray region with a little light added for good measure.
