Damian Hill
Born and raised in Australia, Damian Hill studied acting in his late teens, but he didn't act full time until his early 30s, primarily because as he started studying acting, he also became a father. In his 20s, he appeared on the occasional TV show, such as western drama "McLeod's Daughters" (Nine Network 2001-09) and crime drama "City Homicide" (Seven Network 2007-2011). His first major TV role was as Stephen Montague on the Australian soap "Neighbours" (Eleven 1985- ). By this time, he was working on developing his own material, which paid off with "Pawno" (2015), a well-received Australian romantic comedy written and starring Hill. "Pawno" put Hill on a lot more people's radar and he ended up breaking into American television with a role on "The Leftovers" (HBO 2014-17). His next major film role was in the Australian drama "West of Sunshine" (2017), where he starred alongside his stepson Ty Perham. Sadly, Hill passed away at the age of 42 shortly before "M4M," a film he co-wrote and was set to star in, started filming. He completed work on two other movies before he passed that came out posthumously: "Slam" (2018) and "Locusts" (2019).
