Glenn Dunks Glenn Dunks Kasimir's film is poignant and beautifully constructed film that once upon a time may have been seen as what was right with the local industry rather than a telltale sign of, supposedly, what's wrong. Audience Member Beautifully shot in the Victorian hinterlands, this spare and minimalist Aussie film about loss, redemption and revenge is worth seeing for the performance of Daniel Henshall alone. Slow at times, and a little bit portentous, it still contains some mesmerising images which stay with you long after it has ended. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/09/23 Full Review Audience Member A very tense and tour de force Australian debut feature. Centering around a man who lost his daughter and begins a new life among Victoria's grand forests whilst befriending a lumberer he believes is behind his daughter's slaughter. Only this Lumberer; is just as flawed as he is not to mention he's gained a daughter of his own. The film has such a fascinating character setup whilst making terrific use of its setting with such stunning cinematography. Add to that the performances are solid which makes up for some truly amazing character development within the plot. Definitely a winner with audiences at the Melbourne International Film Festival.
