Richard Stuart (Robert Culp) blackmails many of his patrons for money, including the brother of David Benson. After his brother commits suicide, David arrives at Stuart's Las Vegas gambling party, threatens him with a gun but ultimately cannot kill him. However, when Stuart later is murdered, the signs point to David. His young daughter, Melanie, finds lawyer Perry Mason (Raymond Burr) and his associate, Ken (William R. Moses), who are relaxing in town, and convinces Mason to defend David.

Audience Member My favorite of the tv movies. Has great material between Raymond Burr and the young actress playing the daughter. They had great chemistry. A great cast of supporting actors: Robert Culp, Robert Vaughn, Don Galloway from Ironside and Ken Kercheval.
