When a sleazy blackmailer, Luke Dickson, winds up dead, Glenn Robertson (Gene Barry) becomes the murder suspect. It seems that Dickson threatened to expose some ugly information about the past of Robertson's wife, Laura (Jean Simmons), which could be extremely damaging since she was just named to fill a seat in the U.S. Senate. Perry Mason (Raymond Burr), an old flame of Laura's, comes to the rescue and agrees to defend her husband against the charges.

Audience Member If you are a fan of the Perry Mason series you know what you're getting going into one of these movies, someone seemingly falsely accused and usually innocent with Perry and steadfast Della Street finally deducing the guilty party at the eleventh hour and this one is no different, that's not a bad thing. It does have the advantage however of having a top quality guest cast lead by the great Jean Simmons and many other fine actors.
