Cristina B While elements stood out, the film switched genres from erotic psychological drama, to drama, to sexploitation, to horror, throwing a lot of different information and emotional states together without something like music or repetition or even any recurring characters to tie it together. I guess there were about five minutes when Kristen Stewart seemed to be nailing the traditional erotic drama role, and I think that, without the ghost story, could have been made into a great film. In the middle of the film, we endure a 20-minute text-only conversation before we switch to a more erotic tone, but it was unfortunately a clunky and awkward series of scenes, far from seamlessly executed. From a plot perspective, much goes unexplained. I find it a bit incredible that as a depressed artist of some kind, she has two side gigs in mediumship and personal shopping, and keeps up a chipper relatinoship with her brother's ex. Alas, aside from those five minutes, Kristen Stewart did not shine in this role. I think that Maureen’s makeup and costume, tone of voice, acting were all a bit too brittle, reedy and feminine for her bold but depressed character, and her voice didn’t have the snobbish authority I felt a stylist would have. We are supposed to pity her, but don’t, as she just looks a spoiled princess having bad day If they had given her some instructions on making her voice more theatrical, asked her to gain some extra weight or had the m makeup artist apply glasses and an odd facial mole , or given her an austere, geeky costume, maybe it would have worked. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/15/24 Full Review Christina G The movie was very thought provoking and intriguing. I did really enjoy watching it. But it did feel like it was building up to learn more answers and then just stopped, movie over. But in doing so; you think about the movie and come up with your own direction/answers. I was surprised that in the end, her trip to see her boyfriend, he’s not there. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/13/24 Full Review exer c IMHO Yikes what a HUGE waste of time! Just like KS. Such wasted potential…. A dirtbag trying to look beautiful is more believable than a beauty wanting to be a dirtbag…she tries to look like a meth addict… Why? Movie, overall seemed to be a self indulgence….the same old story….nothing original about it. Really not worth the time…added nothing to my life. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/16/24 Full Review Tibor F A complete nonsense. Also, prepare for reading instant messages for at least ten minutes, probably more. I stopped watching there, and only accidentally finished the film later. No resolution, no story, and so no possibility of any acting. Absolute garbage. Who would do illegal stuff and send photo evidence to a random unknown person? Etc. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 03/08/24 Full Review Künstler N Could not finish this movie. It was SO god damn awful. Yikes! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/20/24 Full Review Linda A Painfully slow and just not for me … Rated 1 out of 5 stars 07/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
