Donald J Starring the ever-funny W.C. Fields as the beleaguered and eponymous pharmacist, this short has some of the most brilliant gags in Fields's repertoire. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/04/23 Full Review Audience Member Only W.C Fields can do this type of comedies Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 01/24/23 Full Review Audience Member Funny and chaotic, this short exercises some of the more rewarding Fields techniques and the result is sheer entertainment. The recurring routine of the up-and-down stairs that Fields uses again here is one I find hysterical- as he mixes his time between his nagging customers downstairs and his distant family upstairs his antics gets more and more fun to watch. The ending is noteworthy as well- a nonsensical (and pesky) shootout within the store which makes it difficult for W.C. to finish a phone call. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/11/23 Full Review Audience Member This film isn't exactly hilarious, but W.C. Fields' "The Pharmacist" is entertaining. All of the trademarks of Fields are here, just in a different setting. Unfortunately I don't have much more to say. If you're a fan of Fields' comedy, see it. If not, don't. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member another slightly disappointing product of wc fields, a man who, when he was funny was really funny, but when he wasnt....he bores you to tears. watch chaplin or keaton instead. maybe even some harold lloyd.
