For all its bloody and violent genre trappings, "Pilgrimage" is a gorgeously shot film that carefully renders the details of this fascinating historical period. Go to Full Review

It's interesting as far as it goes, but you wish it would have gone farther. Go to Full Review

What really makes Pilgrimage buzz ... is an impressively scuzzy ambience powered by repeated outbreaks of raw violence. Go to Full Review

Made with a small budget and shot in thirty days, “Pilgrimage” sleekly maneuvers through its limitations instead of succumbing to them. Go to Full Review

Xane B. @xabobinchuck Nov 27 I would say it was a pretty mid movie. See more Nesrin U Jun 19 I m cry , good movie. See more Fay W Apr 20 This was a fascinating movie with a unique context. Interesting to see the moral grappling of different characters. What is the ‘right’ choice? See more SkyRo P @TheMovieSearch Jan 23 I decided to check out "Pilgrimage" primarily because it features Tom Holland. I enjoy following the careers of certain actors to see how they evolve from their early roles to the megastars they become. So, I was curious to see this film. The screenplay turned out to be better than I anticipated. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it might be, and the director did a decent job of engaging the audience with the material. However, there were moments where the film felt a bit flat, and it missed opportunities to build tension or develop the story in ways that would have kept me invested. Overall, the film was fairly average. In fact, I honestly forgot I had watched it shortly after it ended, and it’s not something I feel compelled to revisit. It didn’t quite capture my attention or maintain my focus throughout. I think there were missed chances for stronger directorial choices and a more detailed screenplay that could have elevated the narrative. At the end of the day, "Pilgrimage" is what it is—nothing extraordinary. I wouldn’t recommend it enthusiastically, but if you need something to fill the time while you multitask, it’s suitable enough to have playing in the background while you cook or tend to other things. See more Ava S 12/26/2022 Though short, the environment of the movie with the added lingering sense of danger and silent hope makes this an entertaining story. Holland, Bernthal, Weber, and Armitage are all fantastic. See more Read all reviews
