Ally D @allythelibra Aug 8 Sometimes, Rotten Tomatoes gets it wrong, take The Sheep Detectives 94% critic rating and 96% audience rating despite how corny, predictable, stretched out, and objectively unfunny it is. Chris Martin nailed this character down to the last minute. It’s the unwavering confidence whilst walking into a “sound proof” room and passing gas while everyone hears or confidently describing a woman in heels as it whines up to just be a male soccer trainer. He’s so seamlessly passive in his comedy, unlike today where it’s so painfully try hard that they script in time to wait for an audience reaction before moving on; almost like you’re forced to do a polite laugh just to break the awkward silence. Think Airplane or I Love Lucy comedy. If you let the cranky comment section convince you otherwise, you’re robbing yourselves. O elenco funciona bem, embora Beyoncé não convença como a namorada do técnico morto. Martin e Kline recriam a dinâmica de Sellers e Lom, e Jean Reno tem boa química com Martin como o motorista Ponton. O novo Clouseau é mais atrapalhado e menos arrogante que o de Sellers, o que muda o tom. O humor, porém, perde sutileza e apela para piadas fáceis, algo raro nos melhores filmes de Blake Edwards.
