POTC: AWE provides the thrilling action scenes, but mixes in too many characters with too many incomprehensible plot threads.

Namrata Joshi Outlook What began as a thrilling and engrossing entertainer ends up as a terribly tedious franchisee -- the convoluted plot leaves you more confused than involved. Rated: 5/10 Nov 27, 2020 Full Review Joanne Laurier World Socialist Web Site Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End is marginally more coherent than last year's sequel-a very small mercy. It is, however, just as bloated, requiring a level of familiarity with both its predecessors. Sep 2, 2020 Full Review Micheal Compton Bowling Green Daily News At World's End is nearly three hours long, so it does feel a little padded, but for the most part the film moves at a reasonable pace - even if it almost stumbles to the finish while trying to tie up all the loose ends. Romas M "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" (2007) is a very uneven movie. Gone is the adventurous spirit and silliness of its two predecessors. "At World's End" takes it self way to serious, and it suffers from its heavy plot. The plot here is messy. It introduces to many unnecessary characters and leaves them adrift. Its has to many plot lines and suffers because of it. The entire Calypso plot lines appears in a middle of the movie out of the blue sky - it felt like writers didn't had enough time to flesh out the plot (this film came out in 2007 - literally a year after Dead Man's Chest") - its way to short. At running time 2 h 45 min this movie drags. And yet at the end of the day i did liked this movie for what it was - a nearly 3 hours long, 300 million dollar extravaganza. It does look very impressive, the final showdown is very impressive, costume, make up, sound design and all production values alone makes it worth the admission. While rewatching this movie on 4K UHD disk recently back to back with previous movies, i did felt like it needed a better editor. Overall, from an original trilogy, "At World's End" is the most ambitious movie, but at the same time by taking itself way to serious, and with a plot that could with at least 2 movies, it suffers. And yet when your movies budget is 300 mill. there is always what to see on screen, and because of that it is engaging. its flawed, but very impressive film. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/11/25 Full Review Jake E Very good finish to the trilogy and probably should’ve stopped here Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/07/25 Full Review EASY m I dont know Whether the critics are du*b or not, it is an absolute must see, specially those who follow this trilogy. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/04/25 Full Review C D Decent movie don't get all the hate Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/15/25 Full Review 21 - Priyan B Worth a watch but not great as first two. Rating: 7/10 Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 05/02/25 Full Review Jean T My favourite is at worlds end, love the story line and scenes where the black pearl is battling the Dutchman, the music all through this fim is magical, the end of the poor old endeavor was stunning, well done Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/30/25 Full Review Read all reviews
