      Critics Consensus

Alternative energy is a business and not a sustainable solution, but beyond that, offers partial information that's unlikely to motivate change.

Bilge Ebiri Spirituality & Health The film's broad-based approach can be uneven. Gibbs isn't nearly as compelling a figure as some of the activists he interviews and portrays... May 24, 2021 Full Review Kate Aronoff The New Republic A feature-length made by an avowed environmentalist in 2020 could arm the public with information to work toward a better place along that spectrum...Gibbs doesn't have such critical democratic engagement in mind. May 7, 2020 Full Review Steve Pond TheWrap [U]nlike Moore, Gibbs is an understated and somewhat flat narrator. Apr 28, 2020 Full Review Erick Estrada Cinegarage Ultimately, it leaves us unsettled, with a marked sense of instability and doom. Leaburn O As with all Michael Moore productions you can't take things verbatim. There is a lot of sketchy logic and cherry picked stats but the central tenet that green energy isn't always as green as it's advertised deserves scrutiny and the film opens the debate. The film almost tacitly places green energy as being as bad as coal though, which is odd. Watched on YouTube. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/29/23 Full Review Paul K You need to see this. If you are sensitive, do not watch the last 8 minutes. I cried over it for an hour. It still upsets me. The truth is out there, just not with big industry. This message resonates now and for the next crucial decades. We are being massively hoodwinked. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/27/23 Full Review Jay B Boycott this movie! This movie is filled with misinformation, deliberately misleading and inflamitory. Watch "Planet of the humans debunked" on you tube before making any conclusions. Shame on you Michael Moore and Jeff Gibbs for making money from this travisty Rated 1 out of 5 stars 09/11/23 Full Review Jon H Very well made, thought provoking docu-movie. There were a couple of omissions from consideration but overall, excellent and very brave documentary. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 06/25/23 Full Review Carlton S The simple fact is we all want to do the right thing...or do we? When I see Bill McKibben fumble to respond about Germany's use of "green energy" it is so telling and it reveals something utterly sinister. This armpit is living in Vermont pretending to be the future energy Czar for future president Sanders, yet he won't have an honest dialogue about BioMass because he is so dark and convinced America sucks that he refuses to use his eroded Harvard "educated" mind that focuses on everything wrong America: Pretty Transparent. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/10/22 Full Review Steph Scary and horrifying but important Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/12/22 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
