Amber Wilkinson Eye for Film Like fellow Frenchman Quentin Dupieux, Meurisse has an enjoyably devil-may-care attitude for the most part although he feels almost like Dupieux’s evil twin as he begins to stray, first, into Farrelly Brothers’ territory, then something more violent. Rated: 3/5 Jun 3, 2024 Full Review David Cuevas Next Best Picture The film is undeniably drenched with potential. However, Meurisse leisurely settles for the surface level. In coincidence with the film’s boorish visual language, “Plastic Guns” amateurishly illuminates its euphoric themes with haphazard execution. Rated: 5/10 May 30, 2024 Full Review Daniel Gorman In Review Online It’s a painfully unfunny comedy full of stupid, unpleasant people doing ugly things. Indeed, the only thing Meurisse holds in more contempt than his characters is his audience. May 27, 2024 Full Review Diego Batlle Otroscines.com Plastic Guns is one of those movies that require complicity, giving into delirium and not asking for too much coherence, plausibility, or depth. Within that playful and carefree spirit, the formula works. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 3/5 May 23, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
