      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Critics say that the third Pokemon movie has a better plot than its two predecessors. This is not enough, however, to recommend it to those not already fans of the franchise.

Ryland C I wanted to like it, but I didn’t and it happens to be the worst of the first 3 Pokemon movies. This one is just….. boring. I’d much rather watch the first Pokémon movie. That one happens to have more heart, and emotion put into it rather than THIS! Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 04/20/24 Full Review Kathy K i love pokemon and this :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/05/24 Full Review Sahooon C if you're a child that loves Pokemon you will love this but otherwise probably best to stay away Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 09/20/23 Full Review Nick S It was okay, didn't have the sense of importance and grandeur the previous two had. It was also a bit confusing... But overall pretty cool still and well animated for the time. It was nice to see Charizard again for a bit. Nell Minow Common Sense Media So-so, violent movie for series fans only. Rated: 2/5 Dec 27, 2010 Full Review Robert Koehler Variety The animation doesn't display the kind of artistic advances that would compensate for the underdeveloped story. Rated: 2/5 Jan 23, 2019 Full Review Sebastian Zavala Kahn Más Gamers Perfect for fans of the franchise; anyone else, though, will probably get bored and annoyed.
