Stanley Kauffmann The New Republic [O]ne of the best based-on-facts police pictures. Aug 8, 2012 Full Review John Hartl Seattle Times Whatever you think of it, you won't be neutral. Rated: 3/4 Jun 28, 2012 Full Review Joe Williams St. Louis Post-Dispatch "Polisse" draws us uncomfortably close to a taboo subject then rewards us with real nourishment. Rated: 3/4 Jun 15, 2012 Full Review Diego Batlle Otroscines.com Its approach to certain issues is ambiguous, and, at times, manipulative and irresponsible. [Full review in Spanish] Rated: 4/10 Oct 4, 2022 Full Review Nicholas Bell IONCINEMA.com Polisse is a finely wrought piece of compelling cinema, and certainly demonstrates that in the director's chair, Maiwenn is someone to watch out for. Jul 24, 2019 Full Review C.J. Prince Way Too Indie When Polisse sticks to its realistic fly-on-the-wall approach to the CPU it's some of the best filmmaking from this year, but its poor attempts to make the film more of a character piece hold it back from being truly great. Sean L Gripping right until the shocking end. Emotional rollercoaster Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/27/23 Full Review Audience Member Gratuitous exposition of terrible infantile incidents, without any respect to those who have suffered. A romance that doesn't work, a documentary that doesn't expose the subject, a movie that is not a movie. Don't waste your time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 01/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I can always appreciate when French cinema tries to be real. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/10/23 Full Review Audience Member Brilliantly composed and performed insight into a very dark world with all the necessary touches of melodrama to bring it alive and the inevitable bias of a pro police point of view, but undeniably a masterpiece. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/27/23 Full Review jed i 6.3/10 — "Okay"/"Watchable" Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Audience Member After reading some of the reviews and finding out that this movie got the big prize at Cannes, I can only conclude that I am the last sane person on Earth. I've never seen so much overacting, pointless dialogue, illogical leaps in the plot crammed into two painful hours. And I didn't even mention the part where the cops who supposedly are so concerned about the kids are completely thoughtless about a teenager who just gave birth to her rapist's child or the mom who had to report her husband as a child molester. Other than that, it's great. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 01/19/23 Full Review Read all reviews
