jill c Awful mix of some interesting doco information and truly badly acted and drawn out worthless drama scenes. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/31/23 Full Review Audience Member Weird combo of archaeological documentary and art-house movie. I don't mind "talking heads" in factual programs but Rosselini narrating in profile to someone off-camera was just weird; why wasn't she talking to the audience? who was the mysterious person being addressed to the right of the screen? The small number of fascinating facts were lost in a flurry of dramatisations of legends. If you were interested in Pompeii better go seek out Mary Beard's BBC programme. If you're interested in Roman myth there are many better ways of understanding their importance to the Romans (try Horrible Histories.....)
