Sterling this was unexpectedly one of the best films I’ve ever watched. So original and euphoric. Was it a bit of a fever dream? Yes but that’s exactly what I loved about it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/21/24 Full Review Allison W Loved everything about this movie! My favorite film of 2023! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review Smiley "A Clockwork Orange" or "Dr. Strange" were more enjoyable than this. Perhaps some "pseudo intellectual" persons might enjoy discussing the ramifications of this with a local barista and other artsy customers at a local coffeehouse. And if this achieved "best actress" award, then the other nominees must have been real "Caspar Milquetoast" performances. Lastly, Emma Stone looks emaciated. I'm just glad that I viewed this on a "senior special" day ... but the "special" hot dogs made the trip to the theater worthwhile. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review Tony J Thought it was great! Interesting, quirky, mysterious, just a fun movie! A little on the long side, but not too bad... Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 03/20/24 Full Review Frana I think the only reason this movie didnt get an X rating is because they dont give it anymore. Lots of sex, nudity & bad language. Its also too long. On the plus side, the acting is wonderful & there are some very funny parts. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 03/19/24 Full Review William P beautiful artsy film, 5 stars, I can see why Emma won the Oscars. Very Yorgos auteur style. Go see it. thumbs 👍 up. Stef Rubino Autostraddle Rather, it’s an attempt to wake us up, to clue us into the behaviors and violences we replicate over and over again, even when we think we aren’t. And on that front alone, Poor Things is a success. Jan 18, 2024 Full Review Mark Kermode Kermode and Mayo's Take (YouTube) The score is brilliant. It absolutely captures the kind of semi-steam punk, fantastical, mythological, Frankestinian... all that stuff. And yet at the heart of it, there is an emotional story... Jan 18, 2024 Full Review Wendy Ide Observer (UK) Bella’s appetite for novelty is reflected in film-making that evokes a similar sense of wonder and discovery in the audience. Rated: 5/5 Jan 14, 2024 Full Review Shadan Larki InSession Film Stone is fabulous as a woman (re)discovering her zest for life, and Mark Ruffalo is a great, wickedly charming villain. Apr 19, 2024 Full Review June Butler Film Ireland Magazine If I had the choice of watching a final movie before giving up the ghost, it would have to be Poor Things. It ranks among my all-time personal favourites and is one of the wittiest and funniest films to hit cinema screens in years. Apr 18, 2024 Full Review Jaylan Salah InSession Film There are not a lot of times where both actor and audience are having fun with a performance. Emma Stone was having the time of her life with Bella Baxter. Apr 17, 2024 Full Review Read all reviews
