Audience Member rasanye bukan cerita porno... Rated 3 out of 5 stars 02/04/23 Full Review Audience Member You might say that this is pornography for behaviorists. IDK, I thought it had a little bit to offer in regards to its wonderful filming, especially of nature, and its statement about war and how it shatters all fantasy. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/16/23 Full Review Audience Member Une adaptation totalement incoherente du grand roman de Gombrowicz. Un film qui ne tient pas la route, une denaturation du propos original admirablement complexe pour en arriver a une parabole filmique invraisemblable, mal ecrite et kitsch sur la shoah !? Relisez Gombrowicz, Monsieur Kolski! Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 02/05/23 Full Review Audience Member The more I watch Kolski, the more I doubt he'll ever become our own Kusturica, which he certainly has great potential for. Surely, Pornografia - given the subject - is not the case, but still... I just wished he had chosen a script enabling artistic growth, rather than yet another adaptation which, sadly, turns out just ordinary. I mean, it's alright, it's sensuous and witty, intertwined with typical, but enjoyable crude language. Plus there are some powerful male performances. All in all however, like I said, just ok. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/07/23 Full Review Audience Member Provocative as it may sound - as I think everything Gombrowicz wrote - well, ...this one is not. But thought provoking - it certainly is. The plot seems a kind of "dangerous liaisons" one, but the farther you get the more sense it makes. Or it doesn't at all - for some. This is not an easily digestive story. It is a psychological portrait, with very complex personal motivations, attitudes, stemming from past experiences, of the main character, Fryderyk, set against a no less complex background of Poland in 1943, i.e. in the middle of WWII. Jan Jakub Kolski, who also co-wrote the screenplay, has produced and directed an very intriguing, and well-made movie, albeit heavy-weight. It is also beautiful visually, as are all of Kolski's productions, and the cast and acting is excellent. Krzysztof Majchrzak definitely steals the show.
