What to Know

Critics Consensus

Overdosing on flashbacks, and more portentous than profound, the overly obtuse Premonition weakly echoes such twisty classics as Memento, The Sixth Sense, and Groundhog Day.

Paul Byrnes Sydney Morning Herald Largely ridiculous but terribly serious. Rated: 2.5/5 Jul 28, 2007 Full Review Scott Tobias AV Club Had it been easier to comprehend at the beginning, there's no telling how bad Premonition might have been. Rated: C Mar 31, 2007 Full Review David Fear Time Out Premonition barely remembers to create suspense. Rated: 2/6 Mar 31, 2007 Full Review Debbie Lynn Elias Behind The Lens [T]oo bad someone didn't have a premonition of what the final cut of Premonition would be. Too bad I didn't. It would have saved me from having to give this less than stellar review. Nov 14, 2019 Full Review Joshua Starnes ComingSoon.net Like a lot of mediocre movies it's not about much more than the immediate emotional response it's trying to generate. The filmmakers realize this and make an effort to shoe horn some themes in ... it just makes an already muddled movie even more muddled. Rated: 5/10 Apr 25, 2011 Full Review Peter Keough Boston Phoenix Thank God the local priest puts everything in perspective with a string of family-values clichés. Gavin F I loved this movie The story is kinda weird and hard to track and the week system is confusing they skipped days sometimes at some point in the movie they go from Friday to Sunday to Wednesday with no clear end to the days they kind of just end whenever they want them too the beginning is quite confusing and seems to have a higher involvement in the movie but it only goes to about right after she finds out what’s going on.i really liked watching this I watched it with my dad and I really enjoyed it although my dad did not like the ending I just thought it was stupid.also how fast do you have to run to run straight through a sliding glass door?. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/09/25 Full Review Jennifer R I loved the movie! Had me on the end of my seat not knowing what was going to happen next. I read other reviews I think the movie was so good. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 04/16/25 Full Review Andrew C I couldn’t for the longest time figure out what on earth was happening in this movie. I had to search a synopsis of the plot to read along while the movie was going on. It was a fever dream of constant flashbacks and flash forwards that the plot ended up making no sense. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 03/28/25 Full Review Matthew R Where were the cuts on the first day? Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 01/26/25 Full Review JoAnna T I loved this movie and understood it well. It closely resembles my life in many ways as a twice widowed mother who was 20 yrs old and six months pregnant with our son Kurtis Borowiak, when my fiancé his father Russell Borowiak died at 26 yrs old due to a semi tractor trailer hitting him and two friends in their car head on in1985, killing all three and decapitating the driver. Then just nine years ago the same happened to my most recent husband and my sons stepfather Brian Sanders at the age of 47 yrs old except he died on a motorcycle. This movie moved me greatly. Thank God my son and I have strong faith, living through all of this has not been easy. JoAnna Toth Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/30/24 Full Review Ashes R I should have read the reviews first. This movie was awful. It gets two stars just because I love Sandra Bullock but everything else was meh. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/10/24 Full Review Read all reviews
