Mller G I loved it. It has a certain slow flow that I really enjoyed, but might be off-putting for most. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 03/15/23 Full Review John T A very good movie slightly let down by its ending. I was mezmerised by the mind play at work throughout the film, which has the viewer wondering what they can and can't believe, but without it at any time feeling silly. The plot was beautifully supported by top-notch acting, cinematography and directing. Well worth seeing. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 03/24/22 Full Review Audience Member I have been on a string of international movies that were supposed to be good but to me were just okay. I am so glad I ran across this. The story kept me intrigued and, unlike some of the others, the ending pulled it all together. Bravo! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/14/23 Full Review Audience Member This film has beautiful compositions, lots of them with deep blues and greens. And there are some interesting urban scenes from Budapest, as well. -- The plot was interesting, and it was difficult for me to imagine how it would be resolved. But it did come to a satisfying conclusion. -- I loved hearing the Hungarian. Because it comes from a non-Indo-European language family, you'd sort of expect many Hungarians to not look very European, and yet they do. That's an interesting puzzle to mull over. And I'll for more Hungarian films at my local library. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/14/23 Full Review natty n Kieslowski would be proud. Charlotte O'Sullivan London Evening Standard The irony-drenched ending is perfect: playful, as well as disturbing. Rated: 4/5 Apr 2, 2021 Full Review Guy Lodge Film of the Week Director Lili Horvát keeps any number of uncertainties afloat in a dazzling second feature that merges the fragrantly saturated melodrama of Douglas Sirk with Hitchcock-cool noir Mar 23, 2021 Full Review Mark Kermode Observer (UK) A treat - sinewy, seductive and beautifully strange. Rated: 4/5 Mar 21, 2021 Full Review Marya E. Gates Cool People Have Feelings, Too. (Substack) The best film I've ever seen about the horror of falling in love. Feb 12, 2024 Full Review Todd Jorgenson Cinemalogue Conventional romantic payoffs go out the window in this low-key psychological thriller from Hungary, which features some intriguing character dynamics.
