Audience Member I think this film is very current and important to watch. However, there are some issues with the storyline and directing. But, overall I enjoyed it. I streamed it online with my gay friend and he loved it. He cried twice and told me he felt like this movie was based on his life. I am giving it a four because according to my friend is one of the best gay indies out there and I think it was ok. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 02/23/23 Full Review Audience Member René Mena is quite good and the story presented in Prescience is one worth telling. A complex love story that depicts a side of love that many in this industry and our community stray away from. There were a few directorial moments that gave me pause but all and all a wonderfully well written movie. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 01/18/23 Full Review Audience Member I had been looking forward to this movie for a long time and I was not disappointed in the slightest. It was funny, heartfelt, and honest and it was perfect, this is beautiful, and very necessary! My favorite scene was by far René Mena's speech on the sofa that if you watched the movie, you probably know what I'm talking about. There are probably just a few little things I didn't like, especially some of the classic topics and stereotypes that this genre of film usually has, but still, it's amazing. We need more films like this. Fun, heartwarming, and just fantastic all around. Whether you're gay, straight, or in between, you will absolutely love this indie movie! Also, a reminder if this wasn't enough: Be yourself. Be happy. You deserve it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 01/23/23 Full Review Audience Member This movie is so beautiful. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/19/23 Full Review Audience Member I want to start by saying this little indie is not perfect. However, Prescience is a bold coming-of-age drama from Rene Mena & Lashawn Williams that has an important place in today's cinema, becoming a raw and powerful film that speaks volumes in today's climate through evocative performances and a strong narrative that might seem simple upon first viewing but certainly becomes more layered when you look back on it. I just finished it watching it and I believe I'm going to watch it again because I may have missed some details. I do want to emphasize this film is not for everyone but if you are open minded and/or gay you'll love it. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 02/17/23 Full Review Audience Member I had the chance to see this film at Arena CineLounge in Hollywood and it did not disappoint. I thought Eric Roberts and Linda Gray were great but my favorite performer was the lead Rene Mena. He was just brilliant! Overall great acting and beautiful cinematography. Two thumbs up! Carlos Aguilar Los Angeles Times James Helsing's trite "Prescience" only warrants notoriety for turning a baffling screenplay into a poorly acted melodrama via a misused cast composed of rising talents and respected veterans such as Oscar-nominee Eric Roberts.
