Polly Barlow (Hayley Mills) is a plain young woman who gets to see the world for the first time when she goes on a vacation with her affluent aunt, Mrs. Innes-Hook. Although the plan was for Mr. Hook (Trevor Howard), Polly's uncle, to get together with them in Singapore, he instead sends a local tour guide named Amaz (Shashi Kapoor). After Mrs. Innes-Hook has a sudden accident, Polly is left with Amaz, and a romance starts to develop when he shows Polly that she can be beautiful.

Audience Member Well the movie is from the 60s so keep that in mind. Unusual movie about a young British girl getting ready to go on a around the world cruise tour on a ship. Her aunt dies suddenly of a heart attack and that is where the movie takes off. There really is a lot of innocence at play in this romantic movie from the 60s. Worth a watch.
